Tips from a newbie
Hi all,
I am a hammock newbie... 7 nights hanging in total so far. And 4 of those I just did on a property in country NSW Australia.
I thought I would share a few simple things I discovered so far and I am hoping other people might join in with tips they would like to share. They aren't necessarily about hammock gear, more just common sense stuff I discovered.
1. If you sleep in your clothes, make sure your pockets are empty or you will end up sleeping on the contents (keys, changes, carribeners, beer lids).
2. Have as little additional clothing (and other stuff) in the hammock when you go to sleep. It ends up all over the place and not as comfortable.
3. A small platform (log or big rock) to elevate your stove makes 'breakfast from the hammock' a lot easier.

Sound good so far!
Try not to hang over currently used animal paths!
If you hang on your property and have a pain in the butt cat out at night, plan on being stalked and attacked repeatedly!
I tend to keep extra clothing either in a peak bag or under my knees in the ha$mmock.
