I believe forum friends also show up differently at the bottom of the main page where it shows who is logged in. Easier to see if a certain person is on?
SHUG,
And if I should ever go away
Well, then close your eyes
and try To feel the way we do today
And then if you can remember
Keep smiling, keep shining
Knowing you can always count on me, for sure
That's what friends are for
For good times and bad times
I'll be on your side forever more
That's what friends are for
Well there you have it as Dionnne Warwick put it, LOL!! Seriously though I use it for the members I talk to on a regular basis as a quick reference to them. I am sure there is probably a different way to do that but I aint much up on computers ya know :woot:
Isn't the membership in the thousands? I only see a handful of regular posters. It would seem a lot of folks don't want to comment.
Hey Shugro.....Being your friend is like being a friend to a Celebrity!!! I log on to HF just to see what ol' Shug is up to!!!
ps....we need another trip report. If you need a friend to hike with and you posted it here, I bet you would have to reserve the forest for all the hangers that would show up!!!! ))) I'd be there!!!
I am willing to bet most of them still visit but just dont post. They probably visit the trip planning and trip reports section the most. I can see that happening to many, once they get their system dialed in and becoming seasoned in the skill of hammock camping. Also, I have noticed in other social communities that people just flat out, come and go. Your always going to be making new friends and loosing old ones. Nature of the beast. All that matters is your passion for the outdoors and the friends you choose to spend it with at that very moment.
I see this on other forums as well. People will sign up, be active for a while, then drift away. Perhaps they have found other interests?
...or maybe they are out there haning??
Shug - I do appreciate your videos and the work you put in to pass along your knowledge. It has been very helpful for me. Thanks!
TT, that was perfect.
Two Tents and i live on opposite ends of PA - but stay in touch on a regular basis. i've been so fortunate to visit and hang recently with Oh-No, MML, Skydog, Ferret, Galina, Early-Bird, Maple, Cranky Bear, Lazy River Road, JerzyBearz. so many great folks at the NJ Pine Barrens winter hang. 2º, yo! ;) Oh-No and i are going to see WV in two weeks. i miss Bear Chaser, Happy Camper, MQ, enyapjr, Bob Mac, ABHarris, walksindark, many more. the forums are so busy and vital, my posts are insignificant. but seeing friends is really important to me. WV, TZ Brown, myself and others are making our way to Michigan later this year for a kayak trip. i am so grateful to have met the best people ever. i had a couple of big surgeries but getting better.
Shug, you're a rock star, it would be fantastic to meet you one day!
