DIY double layer help
I want to make a gathered end hammock like Knotty's. I am considering a 1.1 oz double layer. Can someone point me to a thread. I am sure there is one, but I can't find it. Is it as simple as sewing two pieces together?
I do recall pics where there are large openings in the bottom layer to allow pads to be inserted. Does this effect strength?
Thanks

if I'm not mistaking, you simply leave an opening about 18 to 24 inches on one side not sewn to be able to insert the pad!
good luck

Thanks for the quick response. I thought it was that simple, but did not want to rely on the additional strength and find I had done it wrong

And thankfully, no, leaving openings doesn't reduce strength of the hammock. At least not enough to matter.

Thanks SCLittlefield. I do not use the word literally haphazardly, but I was literally about to post those links. They are helpful,
