Strung up one end of the hammock tonight with these rings. All in all they were a success based on the fact that I didn't fall and they didn't distort at all. Here's a few pics of the samples they sent me in action:

Do you know the weight of the rings?
I think they are .5 oz. weighed on a postal meter scale.
So it would be 14 grams vs the SMC version for 11 grams. Considering the price and color options I could spare 12 extra grams on my ring buckle setup...of course, I'm not counting! ;)

No idea of the weight or strength though. LOL
Well, I pulled the trigger and ordered several sets of black rings from Sling Ring and they arrived today. I took them out and hung from them for a while and I'm pleased to say they worked great. I'll stay cautious with them until I actually spend a few nights on them but I so no reason now to think they are weak.
Those .22 cent rings look good and are 3/4" smaller. I'll have to give them a call sometime and see about the specs on them.
