I have a whoopee sling SRL on my DN and I put the guardian bug net on inside out. This allowed me to use the plastic hooks to keep the bug net in place when I use the zipper. This also keeps the stuff sack off the ground. :shades:
I'm getting out tomorrow and I'll take some pix.
I use permethrin its an invisble bug net and it is really dirt cheap.
I use both. Where i live mosquitoes drink permethrin for shiggles. The bug net keeps them at a distance so I can at least get some sleep.Quote:

I keep it in place on the DN when I stuff it into my Bishop bag. Good and ready.
I finally cut off the stuff sack. Now I'm looking into an easy way to keep it off the ground without sewing and over engineering. :laugh:
Can anybody tell me if you can treat an ENO single nest with some kind of bug repellent as well as using the Guardian bug net?

Glad to read that...I was not sure if I was the only one or if I was getting any benefit from treating my tarp and hammock suspension with Permethrin. I was just hoping to keep spiders and ants from coming across the lines.Quote:

I thought I read in some post a while back about permethrin being deadly to cats. Anyone else remember this?... If it is, make sure you keep your hammock away from your cats.

Yes typically here in the south if you sit on the ground (and that even counts if you're on a pad) through July-Aug or so you can get chiggers. But if I'm in tall weeds and especially when I pick wild blackberries they'll get me every time!:eek: I haven't even thought of wearing permithrin treated clothes when blackberry picking!Quote:

Hey Cakes, went on a canoe trip in Missouri for a week in late May. 12 guys I went to college with, our 35th annual trip. I had clothing and shoes treated with Permethrin, they all had multiple ticks during and after the trip. Some of the bites were inflamed and serious. I did not find a single tick on me. I am sold on Permethrin on clothing. I garden organically and don't use any pesticides at home, but I will take my chances with permethrin over ticks any day.
I use it on my hammock as well, with a bug net. Michigan skeeters are relentless.
I am backpacking next week and will try this out on my hammock. Looking forward to see how this works out.
