A great place. Linvillegorge.net is wonderful. Use the maps from there. Pie is delicious.
Lots of the trails in the Gorge are not marked clearly. Pay attention to your surroundings and were you are. Make sure you carry a compass with you and learn some of the landmarks before you go in to the big ditch. If you park your car on the NC 105 or Table Rock Road make sure you do not have anything that could be stolen left in the vehicle. If your not used to hiking mountainous areas you may want to condition your self before hand. The forestry service makes a map in my opionin that is better than the National Geo Map. Neither one is clear but at least you will have something. There is a web site linvillegorge.net that is really helpful and has lots of information. Be safe and have fun.
