I really couldn't say what the bugs might be like, but it might be a good idea to have something on hand if needed.
I haven't used a bug net yet, but I've been fortunate. I've not been in some of the bug infested places I hear some talk about.
There have been a few times I wouldn't have minded having one though.
If you use a net-less hammock you could always use some repellent or a head net.

Leaving tomorrow for the trail. 25 pound pack with water and DSLR camera seems a little light for 7 days but i feel good about it. Ill be in my kilt. let you all know how it goes next weekend.

Ok that was a great trip, everything went fine. It rained for 2 nights and 1 day, so it wasnt to bad. Next time i need to get a pack cover and a rain jacket. At the end of the trip i had atleast 2 people wanting a hammock for the next trip and a few also want to get a kilt now. :) I loved walking in the kilt.
The walk up Albert mtn, nobo is a killer and the walk from Wesser to NOC isnt fun either.
Ill have some pictures up soon. I took 830 in 6 days, so i need to pick out the good ones.
