New Florida Hanger
Hi all. I stopped and picked up a SN Eno Friday on my way to camping for two days. Thought I'd give hanging a try since I always find myself sweating in my tent. Here in FL we were dealing with 85+ this weekend so I knew I was in for a rough nights sleep if I was inside.
Had an ok experience with my first hang, although I may return the SN for a DN as I'm 6'3" 215lbs and could probably enjoy a little more room. I'm too cheap to throw down for a net and fly all at once and I wanted to try and see if I liked it first. I just used a light blanket and some deep woods off to keep the skeeters away.
I look forward to learning from all the pro's, thanks for everyone's contribution to this forum.

Welcome aboard from Lakeland. A group of us spent a hot weekend down on the Lake Wales Ridge SF. Took awhile to cool down enough to sleep Friday but Saturday night was better with a breeze. Keep an eye open for a group hang in your area.

New Florida Hanger
Welcome from the Palm Beaches. Hope to meet you on the trails someday. I was with olddog this past weekend and agree with his recommendation to find a group hang.

Welcome from Gainesville!
If you're looking for a net on the cheap, and are not DIY capable (if you are, I highly suggest checking out the various designs in the DIY forum here), it may be worth looking into a cheapo head net from your local Army/Navy surplus store (most sell the Coghlan's brand), worn with a baseball cap or visor to keep it off of your face while you sleep. Won't do as much for your body (so, come summer, you'll want to invest in a full-sized net for down here), but it'll keep your neck and face from being eaten. They run ~$5 to ~$10.
Just a thought...

Another welcome from Jacksonville! (Duffy's my better half)
We were at hang with Olddog and MAD777 - among others - to gear-test new DIY down underquilts. HA! Leave it to Florida to have schizoid weather!
Good people here (FLRider does D-I-Y Almost Everything, I think), hope you learn lots and join us for a hang when you can!

Welcome from Wauchula. I'm pretty new to hanging myself. Was hoping I'd get to hang with everyone at Arbuckle, but I had to park cars at Flywheelers. I'm a youth pastor so my weekends are Friday and Saturday... unless I have to work those days ;)

Thanks for all the Welcomes. I'm headed down to the Peace River for some camping and canoeing this weekend. Guess I better go pick up a sleeping bag since the weather is gonna be in the 40s at night.
I did trade my SN in for a DN, should give me some more room and comfort. See you guy/gals around!
