Just moved to the Vegas area about eight months ago for school (UNLV). I have been backpacking for years but have just gotten into hammock camping. Hung twice so far. Once at the Grand Canyon, and once Great Basin NP. My girlfriend an I backpack together and we both love the hammocks so far. Planning a trip to Yosemite soon, will hang if we can. Any other Vegas hangers about? Any advice on places to backpack with our hammocks would be much appreciated!
Oh man, I would love to get my gf out here and take her backpacking/hanging in Yosemite! She lives in CO, and has never been there before!

Well, I'd say hang anywhere but Vegas area. According to weatherman it's ridiculously hot near you. :scared::scared::scared:

Backpacking in that heat doesn't sound fun at all. I would head up to Mt Charleston and try to find trees with cooler temps. If you are up for a drive, Zion is just up the freeway a couple miles. ;)
