I am planning on day hikes Saturday and early Sunday if anyone's interested. I really enjoy plant I.D. and foraging. Any fellow enthusiasts wanting to join in?
Thinking we could fit in 6-8 miles Saturday between breakfast and dinner prep. Maybe north on A.T.
Sunday I would like an early start, so thinking of sticking to trails around the park....
Well as it stands now it may only be me and my youngest attending. Adia has to work and cannot get off work, and my oldest doesn't like going without Mom. Although this may change last second which is why I am leaving the spreadsheet as it is.
I'm signed up to bring a stove/grill and had planned to bring a small BBQ propane tank.
In light of recent events, I'm not comfortable bringing the propane tank across the border.
Would someone be able to bring a 10 or 20lb BBQ propane tank? Otherwise, I'll take myself off the sign-up sheet.
Thanks, Jiblets
Well it looks like we will be able to make the hang this year.
Anne even agreed to take a drive and hang out for a bit :)
A bit last moment, but we are looking forward to seeing everyone
We will be in the area on Wednesday, but do a bit of site seeing and visit a couple of folks. Will be at Pine Grove Furnace on Thursday PM.
Donna here.....Reminder....we still need more to bring PA fire wood....unless someone comes prepared to collect downed wood, haul it outside the park, and cut up with a chainsaw. A handsaw or two at the sites would do, if exercise is your desire! We will have 5 campfire areas available to us...one in each campsite.
I'm not sure what firewood costs, but since I haven't contributed yet I'd be willing to pay some towards a load of firewood someone else brings in. I don't have a pickup truck.
