I have some for tie outs on the tarp. Something that is reflective can help you find camp in the dark. When I hunt I come back to camp in the dark and have had a hard time finding camp in the past. The reflective line helps tons.I also dont trip on tie outs as much when walking around with the headlamp on. It would work very well for a ridge line.
I have used it for 2 yrs,,and it finally started to show alittle wear,,so I went to Dutch's web site and got some zing-it,,2mm...but,,I still use the glow wire for tiedowns all round my 2 cuben tarps..the zing-it seems to be wearing alittle better for RL.
Thanks for the replies guys. Acer did it stretch a lot when you used it for a ridgeline?
Glowwire works just fine.
Not much stretch at all,,,use it first and your good to go. First time is a break in and after that,,good to go. shines really great at nite so you will not trip over anything,,and with a red lite on,,it really shines.
Thanks for the reply and tips. Yeah I am hoping it helps. Last outing I had my fire a ways from the hammock, then spent 30 minutes trying to find my hammock in the dark since I have a brown tarp, green and brown hammock and green ridgeline. Doh!
It doesn't shine up from a long way off,,as your light is weak from a distance,,you will have no problem finding it about 50 ft out tho,,no problem at all..
Many times that I've been out with the glow-wire on my tarp pull outs. Looking at it from a distance, with a good headlamp, there are 4 bright white lines pointing he way to my hammock. It ain't stealthy, but it sure shows you where to go. Choose accordingly.
