Another new guy
Just another new guy. Got an ENO this past year, looking to start camping with it. Grew up backpacking with Scouts, haven't been backpacking since my teens. Got an ENO Fast Fly, crappy ENO suspension (soon to be replaced), and no insulation. Basically looking to upgrade suspension and get a solid insulation system going. Live in Birmingham, AL and planning to hike around the southeast for the foreseeable future.
At any rate, I'm planning on going with a whoopie sling, and have no clue what I'm going to do (cheaply) for insulation (please, no SPE). Looking into a peapod type system off a modified sleeping bag.

Just Leaving
Hey, I bought a hammock, used it and found that it was not for me. I was so intrigued when I first saw hammocks used for camping that I had to try it. Woke up after the first night cold, but I knew that was going to happen, so I tied a piece of cord to each of the corners of a sleeping bag and hung it like a underquilt the next night and slept like a baby. The next day my knees were killing me. I gave the hammock a break for a week and tried again with the same results. I'm grounded now. So long and thanks for all the fish.
