I have some good news and some bad news..............The bad news is that Mandy and myself will not be able to make it to the hang this weekend, we have had a situation come up. The good news is that my daughter, her sister and mother are arriving in New Orleans, LA From Tokyo, Japan as I type this post. We will be going to see her since I have not seen her since New Years. We apologize for this being short notice but I did not know anything until this afternoon. Please have fun and enjoy the weekend. We are going to have beniots at Cafe Dumonde and Voodoo BBQ while we are there. Look forward to the trip reports and possible making it to the May hang.
I'm very bummed to say we are bailing out this weekend. Weather predictions for the Dalton area/north GA is 2-3" of rain --possible high winds & possible isolated tornadoes :/
Hoping to make it to that area soon - my next open weekend is 23APR
Bamaguy - enjoy the visit with your daughter & the family! :)

Yep I'm gonna bail, my tarp is as yet untested in the rain...not a goods time to test it :)
I am going to set it up and test it...this weekend does seem like a great time for a test ....just not out in the wilderness :D
I 'm sure the fabric will hold up but I had to seam seal it and I'm not so sure of my handi-work :)
Way too rainy to enjoy the great out-of-doors here in NW Ga. Anyone interested in rescheduling to the first weekend in June? My wife is heading to the beach for a girls weekend and I'm heading to the woods! I've never fished at Pilcher's Pond, but may go back up there and wet a hook that weekend.
This is a week later, but that was myself and Hetairoi. Nice to meet you Youngblood!
Since then, we hiked all the rest of the Pinhoti going north from Pilchers (except the roadwalk through Dalton) to its terminus on the BMT. That completed our sectioned-thru of the whole trail this winter/spring.
Sorry the hang got rained out. If you guys had gone anyway though, it would have been the perfect time to see Keown Falls on Johns Mountain...
