Leg going numb
I just got back from a 4 nite 5 day hike on the AT! I love my WBBB but I keep having problems with my left leg going numb at nite! There seems to be a hard "ridge" for want of a better word that hits right underneath my left knee!
Has anyone else experienced this problem? If so, what do I need to do differently to prevent this?

Could be problem with the amount of sag. Another thing to try is getting the head either higher or lower than the foot end. Play with the set up and see if that helps.

Thanks for those links!I have been hanging the foot end higher, but not by as much as suggested! I will also try shortening the ridgeline with a knotbone as suggested!

I always heard hang the footend higher, but never really tried it, but when it did it made the WBBB a whole new bird. I would try hanging the footend higher than you think.
Also I had the WBBB at scout camp this year for a week. It rained almost everyday. I could tell things were absorbing the humidity and sagging slightly. I would not touch anything and the hang would vary from night to night.

I use to have the same problem. It was a combination of things...too little sag, to parallel with center line, and my legs didn't like being totally straight. I corrected the first two and now I always put something under my legs (a t-shirt behind the knees). No more pins and needles when I get up! :D
Cheers,
Mickey

we found that some gossamer gear foam will help with the legs, plus adds warmth when you have 3/4length UQ.
The sitpad works well/plus dual purpose

and so does this foam

it is the one drag/complaint of the blackbird :( some folks have found, sort of fixes. for me, it is putting my legs in a figure 4 configuration. left leg bent and underneath my right.
at least that's how i start off the night. i awake all over the place :D

Shortening the ridgeline is what cured it for me. Forum member outandback told me about the simple mod of shortening it by 3" by tying a figure 8 knot somewhere in the line that you wouldn't mind having a loop for hanging something.
