Re: My DIY progress for four
So I got all the hammocks hung and ridge lines set. So now I can continue on with bug net construction. But I have a design issue And hopefully you all can guide me on it. My wife's hammock ridge line was set more to the 88-90 percent and that is how she was confortable . So with a ted net design the net will be really close to her face since the ridge line is so low. And to top it all off she is a little on the claustrophobic side. So has anyone have any ideas I was thinking of just running another ridge line just for the net higher up to give her room.
Re: My DIY progress for four
Maybe just extend the length of the hammock with a large loop of amsteel on each end of the hammock then run a longer ridgeline between the amsteel loops?
That should give you a higher rl but will decrease hanging options a little because of the extra lengths.
Another option I can think of is trying an sls (single line suspension (don't know if you've spotted any of those threads yet)). You should be able to figure something out with an sls variant.
Good to see you are still making progress buddy.:D

OK got the net done for one. Going to hang it tomorrow and see how it does but looks like it will do. As for the material I used , I have no clue it was unmarked dollar bin at wally so I have no clue but it is like panty hose in a way. A little stretchy but breathable and the holes are around the same size as the curtains. Here are the pics.

Oh yeah did some stoves to. Two super cats , two water bottle, bag for the Stanley set, two wind screens made from cheap cookie sheets, and grabbed two 4 oz bottles.
Testing showed the super cat is faster to boil and lighter so it win a place in the bag. Lol one 4 oz bottle is enough fuel for me to make 4 mountain house meals for everyone. I have to still go pick up another Stanley for the wives bag so we can make two meals at a time.
