After seeing some of the day trip reports i just wanted to show you my "hood";)
I jumped on my bike and headed out..... I'm very lucky - i live near a lot of very nice and accessible nature, and this time it was in Rude-forest.
It was one of my first trips into the woods on bike again, have had a close to 5 years break from biking because of health issues. And it was a chance to mess a round and play movie director:rolleyes::D
Anyway it was a really nice trip - nearly ran over a deer, drank a nice cup of tea, had a little snooze and logged around 17 miles. All in all a nice afternoon.
And forgive me for the rather lousy video quality(it's my boy's camera) and all the rambling(well that's just me:D) But this is my first try at video production.
So here it is.... Bomber's first youtube video:shades:
To the mods: if this is to much of a gear ramble, feel free to move it.

Hi Bomber, Excellent trip report.
I think your English is perfect. Really like your DIY TQ idea. You've put together a really nice hammock kit.
I didn't get a good look at the pack you used. I'm trying to decide if I want everything on my back or maybe some panniers and a small pack.
Wow, 17 miles and you haven't been riding in 5 years. You are in better shape than me.
I just took the winter off and did 10 miles of single track today mostly rolling hills no climbs and my legs are killing me. I did have an nice
streamside hot lunch and 30 minute nap in the hammock. Didn't feel the pain until I got home.

I can't believe there aren't more posts here! This was a great video. I'm using a very similar setup, except for the UQ (I use a pad). Not sure what tarp you were using, but I use a MacCat Deluxe, in Spinn UL. I'm also using the MSR Titan Teakettle, Kiwi Stove (though mine is made from a Tobassco Chocolate tin), and was that your HF Buff sneaking up from under your collar? That's where I have mine as well - when I'm not using it. Sorry you can't get farther into the woods, but at least you managed to get outside, and that's all that counts, right! Great video, and I also look forward to #2, as well, and, no, you don't ramble at all.

Good job! I like seeing people out enjoying nature even if there are cars nearby. Looking forward to the next one!

Hope to see more videos from you. I enjoyed it. It's always fun to hammocking in different parts of the world. Great thoughts on the wide sleeping bag providing additional insulation due to overlapping...I might have to play with that idea a bit!
