Greetings from Northern VA USA

I'm a new hammock camper looking forward to my first trip next weekend. Planning on dry running in the local park this weekend to make sure everything looks good. The weight limit on the Hennessy is a little light for my current weight so hoping nothing rips/tears/shreds or otherwise surprises me.

I decided to get back into backpacking and in moving to lighten all my gear found a ton of good info on hammock camping. My back doesn't do great on the ground, so happy to find great quality gear out there at decent prices (especially with REI discounts!)

Hope to run into some of you from time to time in the outdoors.

There are tons of decent trees in the common areas around our area, so I had just planned on doing a trial hang during a quick loop on the hiking path near us. I'm going to Dolly Sods next week for a 3 day trip.

Yep, that is pretty much same as I do. I tried hanging in a couple of the local parks (Algonkian and a couple of the small regional ones) only to discover my hammock was not welcome :(

Now, common area in my community like what is right behind my house has not been an issue so far.
