Tell me about your first...
So I'm about to make my first under quilt purchase and I have to say that it's been my hardest decision so far. 3/4, full length and 100 different temperature ratings to choose from.
What did most of you start off with and would you do it differently knowing what you know now?

If I started over I may have saved up a bit longer and started with just due to its size stuffed and weight.
So do you use it during the hot months vented open?

I was actually hoping you'd reply being a fellow Canuck. I've been leaning towards the 20 or as I like to say a -6 in real temperature :) I just don't want something that gets to hot and I'm not able to vent.

I started with a couple KAQ and used them through the first winter. I have since purchased a couple Flamethrower and te-wa quilts. If I was starting over again, I would start with the partial, down quilts. They seem to fit my needs most. The 30* quilts are also the best temp ratings for most of my camping. (They have worked for me from the teens to the 60's.)
I would also purchase from Mike and Paul again too. They make good gear and they are good camp company. ;)
