Good Top quilt
I am looking into a top quilt for a wilderness trip next spring. I am on the research stage not even close to buying stage. What do you suggest I look into I have looked at the mamba and the burrower what others do you suggest. The places I am considering going is up in the mountains where it can get fairly chilly and would not be surprised if it got to winter tempratures. I like light and I also like less space but temperature rating and compactness take priority.

i have 4 JRB Top Quilts. all meet their ratings by 10 degrees less (for ME). i like their wareable ones the best.

I have JRB and Hammock Gear Quilts,,,both excellent.

I had a JRB hudson river which I loved and wish I didn't sell, but I will own one again some day. My current setup is a matching tq and uq from Hammock gear. Both made of M50. Very light and compactable. I've been nothing but happy with them. Most any of the cottage vendors on this site are usually more than happy to accommodate requests for customization so you can get really anything that will suit your needs. I would just get in touch with a couple of them and see what they can do.

be sure to look at the awesome quilts from Wilderness Logics.
3 different sizes of Top Quilts.
2 lengths of Under Quilts.
as well as, some of the nicest Summer Quilts out there.
WL is forward thinking in service, quality, design and value.

In reality, if you pick a quick from any of the vendors here on the site, you can't go wrong.
Undergroundquilts.com is another one the makes both top and underquilts in all temperature ratings.
Cheers

I use an Enlightened Equipment Revelation X rated for 20 F. Still haven't gotten to test it at that temperature, but would without hesitation. It is good gear.

Go-lite says they will have quilts on Wednesday ;)

I just went with a 20* from HQ. Don't winter camp, but it gets into the 30's & 40's in the mountains around here in July & August. Looked at all the vendors, but decided on this one based on their specifications compared to the others - seemed to suit me best. YMMV

I have JRB Sierra Sniveller, and couldn't ask for better. A real plus for them is that they keep their quilts in stock, so you have it in just a few days after ordering.
