It's a lighter weight and has a 'lighter' load-bearing capacity.
As an example, I have a 1.1 double-layer; I'm 5'10" and weigh about 170. The DL 1.1 is rated for up to 250 lbs. The DL 1.7, as another example, is rated for up to 375 lbs.
Brandon has all the specs right on the warbonnet homepage.
Hope this helps.
Also the 1.1 is mosquito proff and the 1.7 is not. Although in theory this does not matter bc most of the time you will have bottom insulation.
Congrates on your decision for the WBBB, you'll love it.
1.1 is a lighter weight and holds less weight. I believe the max recommended is 185lbs. 1.1 Double gets about 250lbs max. 1.7 single is about 220lbs max. While the 1.7 double is over 300lbs.
I'm down grading from a 1.7 single to a 1.1 single. But then again I am 5'4" and weigh on average 155lbs. I can get away with it.
Doubles give you the option of putting a pad between the layers for insulation too.
Please check here for the weights - all the weights in this thread are off!
