-1 to this whole idea!
Disavowing responsibility for someone doing something stupid after you offered them a prize if they could prove that they are stupider than everyone else, does not absolve you of responsibility for the consequences. IMHO
Whoaaaahhh! lol.
My feet are off the floor!!
Did I win??
I am completely against this... but I'll enter...
I think I have a winner here.

This is at the 2010 Fall Texas Hang. Yeah, I know, it looks REALLY EXTREME:scared: (blah, blah, blah...). Before you judge, let me lay it out for you.
Up until about a week before this photo was taken, we were a zero-hammock couple. I had been quite a lurker up to that point. I decided (without SWMBO's input) that we were going to become hangers. For those of you who don't know, this can be a VERY SKETCHY proposition when her input is not sought.
So... I grabbed a 1.0dbl WBBB from Optimator. Guess what? He had a Leighlo UQ that he wanted to sell, and if you have a hammock, you need a good UQ, so I grabbed that too. We already had a 12' Noah's tarp, so the boss's set up is pretty much complete.
I signed us up to join the cool kids at Fairfield for the hang. I had a WBBB and BMJ on order, and was expecting delivery just before the hang. Sadly, it did not make it. So, we have two people to shelter and one hammock set up.
We set up the hammock and tarp, then set up the tent. She wanted the tent. I made her sleep in the hammock. It rained. It was cold. At this point, my life was in grave danger (Colonel Jessup would say there is no other kind of danger.). She survived. I survived. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Did I win?
wow. It's funny how different people look at things in a different light. I never considered doing anything really dangerous, just hanging in places that were unusual or really bizarre. Maybe change it to the most bizarre place to hang or something like that. I like the idea of finding weird places to hang, like the Lincoln Monument.Nothing dangerous, just a little foolish. :)
Meh. I would do it for fun, and have. But I'm not gonna put myself at risk for someone's case of boredom. Even if it is a nice hat.
Oh. Well in that case... knock yourself out :D
The referenced video showed people hanging from bridges and overpasses and seriously "jackass" type situations.
Please don't do that.
ENO has an ongoing photo contest. Any picture of a hammock more than 18" off the ground is not accepted. I don't know how much they enforce that but at least they can say they have a rule. I guess their lawyers got involved...
