It was a nice spring weekend here in North Carolina & who wants to sit around watching TV.
So my daughter & her friend were up for a short drive & hike up Crowders Mountain, located just outside of Charlotte.
On weekends, the trail from the parking lot is pretty dense with people, but you get away from them by doing some exploring.
We explored the access trail the rock climbers use and found a couple trees to hang from and some great views.

Looks like a fun time was had by all. At least it was downhill on the way home!

I enjoyed that Paul! Looks like fun. I love how the hammock was hanging above those rocks. Try setting up there with a tent! Thanks for the video and the vicarious thrill. Life has kept me out of the woods too long!:(

Glad you enjoyed it. They were entertaining, kept my mind off that climb anyways.

Of course this vid appears while I'm in my cage :(
I do remember seeing the rocky outcrops when I was visiting Kings Mountain NBP.
It's a neat area and I can see why your daughter was drawn there.

Thanks MediceMan.. its an easy drive, and the views are great.. plus it is a good workout climbing up the stairs.
We saw a guy in full on hard plastic mountain boots climbing the stairs - he was getting ready to climb Mt. Hood this summer. I told him it's on my bucket list.
