I've been looking on the internet for an answer, but haven't found what benefits, if any you would garner from using more than one space blanket. Would it two double the insulation, quadruple the insulation, or only have a marginal effect?

Given that one isn't insulation at all, but just reflects heat back to you (not to mention moisture) I would guess two would only increase the crinkling.
