So as I left the second campsite today due to failing gathered end knots ive determined I need help. What knot do I need to use? Having a bit of a brainfart since last fall when I last used it as a hammock.

Mine came with a square knot tieing the ends together and then the s hook run through the loop made by the square knot...

No prob... As soon as mine showed up I took that system off and just ran my carabiners through where the rope was and haven't looked back...
I don't know what you are using for suspension, but you may want to consider larksheading a whoopie sling through the end channel. That's how I have my GT UL set up and it works great without any knots.
