I don't have a hammock problem. I can quit any time I ... oh, wait. Maybe I DO have a hammock problem...:scared:
Reading these posts made me realize that if any single group is stimulating the economy, it's gear junkies like myself, on this forum.
Is it still a problem if I buy new gear and justify the purchase by saying to myself that it's going to be for my DH or my daughter, who's only 3, but really already have plans about how I'll use it myself?
You definitely don't want to visit the CZ sub forum at rimfirecentral.com! I was shopping for a stainless pack .22 when I found a CZ at the local gun shop. It was so nice compared to others I went home (without it) and goofoo'd my way to that group of super enablers. I now have 3 with a fourth on order. But you see, they're being discontinued and remaining supplies are getting very scarce, and others enjoy them so much and I'll never have another chance and oh please lord stop me!
Seriously, they are finely made very accurate little rifles that are a gas to shoot! CZ doesn't make stainless or packable for hammock camping, but a pair could help make a nice tarp porch... ( struggling to stay on topic while showing an example of how easy it is to learn to need and justify acquisition ).
Rather than buying yet another hammock, I'm filling that need by sewing my own. It isn't cheaper, getting all the supplies etc, and it isn't instant gratification, but it does answer the call and I do get to discover what I like and what works for my wants. I am so grateful others share in how to build gear, I just can't express it enough.. I'm also grateful you've opened up about this gear junkie phenomena I'm facing. It holds up a mirror for me.
Thank You All!

Second time shooting, 50yds, 5 shot group, Fun!
On target if not completely on topic...
Absolutely no problem on my end. Just because while I drive I'm constantly seeing places that would make perfect hangs, just because it crosses my mind a few times every hour, just because I could outfit my entire family with a hammock, just because I now have a hammock barn, just because hammocks, stoves, and cords seem to have taken up the entire spare bedroom, just because DIY stuff has over ridden my dinning room table, just because I pretty much leave hammock forums up on my laptop 24/7 does not in any way, shape or form mean that I have a problem :D
I just hope there aren't any pharmamceutical reps lurking around. Before you know it will see some new medication for "what ails us".
One is to many and a million is never enough. I have 5 hammocks and 5 tarps.... Lord help me find a better job to pay for my habit.
