planning Red River Gorge for scouts

Hey all,

I am trying to plan out a trip in May for my son's troop. They just got approved for a crew to Philmont, so want to get them started on training. We live in Cincinnati, and I want to try to get a begninner's backpacking trip for them started. Thoughts are about 10-15 miles over 3 days/2 nights. I was looking for us to get there on Friday night, hike only a couple miles to get to a campsite. Then fill out the miles over the next couple days. So any thoughts?

Gray's arch trail head, first campsite is about 2 miles in. Then you can pick a loop to get your desired mileage.

I will second gray's arch. You could also use any of the koomer ridge camp ground trails or possibly rock bridge.
