Well folks, here's my review of the Buttinasling double-layer 1.1 oz hammock prototype I received from Brian and Shane. Five days in a row I tried to make a video but the high winds on the Jersey Shore drown out the audio.
I feel honored to get to try out a prototype and review it. On the other hand, if it was anything other than a great product, I would probably return it, keep my mouth shut, and tell them privately they're not ready for primetime . Thankfully, Buttinasling has a great product, I got to review it, and I've got a sweet piece of gear.
Now if I can only get their prototype bugnet to go along with the hammock before my Pine Barrens hike, Friday the 13th (April). No pressure, Brian and Shane. I would never do that! Ok, maybe I would.

If I could ever get caught up on the WW Micro I might have time to work on bugnets. We do have material in, just haven't had time to get on it. I haven't seen the whole vid yet, but Thanks in advance.
Now, back to the show.

So the pressure thing on the bugnet didn't work, Shane. Well, I had to try.
Let me try again. You do realize that there might be customers clamoring for a Buttinasling bugnet and are eager to see a review? A Friday the 13th review? In the Pine Barrens of New Jersey?
I'm like a mosquito - I'm persistent.

Great review. We've had a few doubles ordered since you received yours and I did reinforce the stitches on the opening. I had intentions on doubling yours, but it being the first it got overlooked. At that point I was wanting to see it in between two trees. You'll have to call Brian and give him a hard time about the bury. We'll send you another pair if you want.
Thanks for the review,
Shane

Thanks for the review,

I had to struggle to find anything negative about the hammock - it's great. I just tossed in those couple of ridiculous nitpicks so that nobody thinks I'm a Buttinasling cheerleader - but the pompons and Buttinasling cheerleader outfit kind of give me away.

One thing I forgot to mention is the weight rating. It's 250 lbs. Is that right, Brian or Shane? I didn't see it on the website.

For the double... 250. I'd recommend 225 for the single in the same material.
Thanks!

The wife won't be able to use this hammock - can you make a DL in 5.5 oz ripstop nylon?
That was a fat joke.

I sure hope you have a big tarp. Cause if she reads that, your gonna have to move in the back yard for a while. Good thing winters over.
