Thanks for the education
I have learned so much from this site just wanted to say thanks to everyone!I am a lifelong camper from tents to a camper I have tried it all. After sleeping on a rock last year on a canoe trip I decided to retry a hammock.I had only used a rope hammock in the past with poor results.A quick internet search and here I am.The HH expedition was going to be my next purchase but after reading the DIY posts I am modifying ,making my own kit now.2 canoe trips with minimal gear and great nights sleep have made me a believer. Thanks again for all of the great ideas and clear instructions.I haven't posted sooner as I'm a very slow typer and take forever[need to find the time for a typing class].

sounds like you found something that works for you... the great thing about this place is all who are teachers now, are only their because they spent so long on the learning side of things... and most of them would still say they are on the learning side of things... i'm glad you found the information useful as i have...

Welcome to the HFs. Since you're a DIYer, you might look up the Tablecloth hammock...

Thanks guys.
Boomer, thinking of making a couple of tablecloth ones for some of my nephews. They are 16,14 and 11.I think they will enjoy making them and sleeping in them on our next camp out.I really like camo so will most likely start from scratch.Thinking dual layer with Knotty mod.for my next one.
Georgemaung,it's been raining for 3 days and turning to snow tonight.I took a walk in the woods behind my house today what a muddy mess.
