I have made many posts,a dozen or more. Why are they not showing up in my post count?I've made roughly 15 posts over five threads, but my post count hangs at two or three. http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/s...onfused013.gif

I noticed last night there were a few of you new guys with 0 posts or maybe 1 post showing on your details, but saw several actual posts from you guys in threads. I think it was just a glitch in the system. Hope you get it fixed so you can fully enjoy this site the way it's meant to be.
I actually PM'd the mods last week. Its been happening to me for over a little more than a week so far. Seems to be no rhythm to it.
Edit: As it did right now!
I saw the same thing. When you click on your name, and view the posts from you, the total posts there differs from the post count.
Recently, due to users cut/copy/pasting greetings to new folks in the Introduce Yourself forum in order to run up their post count, the mods and HF staff decided that posts there should no longer be counted in the user's post count. In one recent instance, a user had copy pasted 36 greetings in 1/2 an hour, in an effort to reach 50 posts. This policy went into effect about 8 days ago.
Posts in the Introduce Yourself forum will no longer count towards your user post count.
Could it be that it only counts the different threads not individual posts?
For those who may be curious, it wasn't Ewker. He is always incredibly polite. :jj:
Thanks NCPatrick. Oh, and hello from Charlotte. +1
Did your post count change when you posted that question?:lol:
Not that it really matters to me, but for the sake of those who do care about post counts - is this retroactive or only forward going?
Good call on the change.
I never did have near the confidence in an item FS from someone who had 45 "howdy" posts, their own introductory posts, and a few "+1"'s with the FS as post 50 or 51 compared to someone with the same 50+ post count that had shown up on several varied threads and engaged in conversation in them.
+1 UncleMJM.
I do totally agree, I am cautious of buying something from someone who doesn't have many posts.
Copy/pasting "Hi" 36 times would have taken over 15 minutes, with the "One post every thirty seconds" rule.
How tedious would THAT be? Goot lawd.
Ok I get it now.I understand the reason behind the 50 post thing. Some of the forums I admin/co-own have post count requirements.I don't think we can cut post counts on those forums.Anyway,I just wanted to make sure it wasn't a forum problem that's starting to crop up.BTW,I don't understand the thing with people wanting to have the highest post count. We're here for the experience not the competition.
Awesome! This is post 6 of the ones that count.I'm going to be a post count super star. http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-happy112.gif
Going through the system and doing that level of analysis can't be all that enjoyable. So I'll like to say: "Thank you to the moderators!". The effort they put in makes this such a great forum.
Ok this is all making sense to me now.
