What color is the fabric?

Nice, my troop is small, so 200 yards would be way overkill. I'm thinking that we would probably be looking at 40 yards at the top end. Has anyone looked into the liability aspect of having the troop make hammocks?
BTW, I was talking to Dutch at one of the group hangs and he mentioned that he gives discounts to Scout troops.
How did you get Uncle Obummer to pay for this? What sort of grant money?
As far as liability..... We, the Troop, are not making them. This would be a Scout made craft with guidance. If necessary, I think the parents could sign a release. But, I don't think that would ever be an issue.
doogie,
Three stack looks like great fun !
Imagine that getting to the top required some athletic ability ( and a few laughs ).

I have been hangin as a scoutmaster for several years now. The hardest part with my troop was to get the boys to realize that my hammock was my "house" and to stay out of it. :)
Hammock building as a troop activity, I like it.
Would love to see the look on the scouter Mom's faces when you tell them the boys are going to make "Whoopie Slings"
A couple weeks ago, our scout troop made hammocks. We ended up making 28 hammocks total. Each scout ended up with a 10' sewn-end channel hammock, whoopie slings, and tree straps.
I ordered the fabric from magna fabrics (digital ACU and some 1.9 coyote ripstop). Spent the better part of 2 months sewing hammocks. The total cost of each hammock ended up being about $16-$17.
Well, how are the hammocks progressing?
I'm with a small troop in Baton Rouge.
I'd love to work with some of our scouts to make some hammocks before we leave to summer camp.
Do y'all have some fabric that you'd like to sell? We'll come down and pick it up!
Thanks
