Can you get a flat lay in a Grand trunk NANO?

Just traded for a Nano and I haven't used or seen one yet. I am very interested in it due to the weight but its kinda short. I know that you wont get a real flat position but let's just compare them to any other gathered end hammock. Who uses the Nano and what do you have to say about them good or bad?

I'm about 5'10" and regularly use a GT SB Pro hammock which is about 10.5' long (ring to ring I think, so maybe about 9.5' bed length). I like the size of the SB Pro where I have a lot of room to move around and get comfortable without feeling like I'm going to roll out onto the ground.

The Nano on the other hand seems a good bit shorter and it's pretty narrow. on a side note I've swapped the biners out for whoopie slings which makes it even better IMHO.

Bottom line on the Nano, to me it's a great hammock to take on a day hike or for short term outings where you would not need to sleep in it over night. I just won't fit in it well enough. It is ideal for my 6 yo son though. He could carry it in his pack and be quite comfortable over night. I still hang it up after I get off the mountain bike to relax while everyone else is sitting on the ground or a bumper or concrete bench.

I have a Nano 7. Haven't slept all night in it yet, but I sure is comfy to nap in. In answer to you statement, I am quite able to lay flat in it. But then again I'm 5' 6".

I'm expecting a package from Opie with a set of Whoopie Slings for mine. I also ordered a Structural Ridge Line. That may help allow for a more diagonal lay, especially since I'm 5'6", a bit shorter than you. I'll post pics and my opinion once I attach the suspension. It won;t be right away though. My "honey do's" are piling up and I want to clear them out before my next camping trip in March.

Its no big deal if its not perfect. I have ordered a WB traveler and just came across this Nano by chance. It is super light so I thought I would give it a shot!

I'm about 5'8" and sleep in it all the time when camping. Used it again last weekend and like it very much.

That is encouraging to hear. I would really like it to be my go to hammock just for the weight its almost 2/3rds a pound less than my ENO setup now. But I have to say I have been using my ENO for 2 years now. I cant think of a more comfortable hammock. So this NANO does have some big shoes to fill :)

I think you'll be able to lay flat in it. It is smaller than the double, but has a similar feel. Without the biners, the nano is very, very light.

Yes, swap out the biners for your own cord suspension system or just get a couple of whoopie slings, and your all set.

I got it today. I put my whoopie suspension on it. I was happy to see that with my tree straps and marlin spike toggles it weights 11.1 OZ that amazing.
So then I strung it up in the back yard and put my UQ under it. It does have a feel to it. Its not as comfortable as the double Eno but its 13oz less also.
