I mighty glad you appreciate my humor, which in person runs to "straight man saying slightly odd things." Often people just look at me with That Face which says "huh?"
btw, I'd glad you came out of the drop with only a bruise. The only time you want to drop 3 feet on your butt is doing a butt-flop in the swimming pool.
Grizz
well i'm glad to hear some one say something<g>.
i appreciate the supportive words i've gotten from a few, but i have to say, the silence from the rest makes me wonder if people are chatting back & forth in private, talking about what a self righteous dog i am:o
i really shouldn't make light at all of the situation because i really am sorry that teedee was that disturbed by the whole thing.
i hope we can all learn from that episode (me too... absolutely).
like one of you just said, it's easy to read extra emotions or wrong intent into a post were you can't hear the person's voice or see their face, or in a lot of cases we don't really know much about the person at all.
so i guess we have to slow down & remember that when we read posts.
and i hope you guys will keep working on your bridge hammocks & sharing the progress.
when the jacks 1st started telling us about the "mystery hammock" that they would soon be unveiling, some one asked them (because of the patent thing) "what if some of the DIYers want to try to make one for them selfs?"
the jacks weren't concerned about that at all. ...tim
slowhike,
I have met you in person like 3 times and you have to be one of the nicest, most helpful people I have ever had the pleasure of crossing paths with. I don't look down on you or TeeDee for any of the comments made. I did follow the Bridge Hammock thread closely you did have valid point in your comments, IMHO. It was a heated discussion, but that happens in life and people choose how they want to deal with it. I'm sorry that TeeDee chose to abandon the forums instead of putting you on his ignore list or PM'ing you to discuss his feelings or just to cuss you out in private ;).
The Bridge Hammock is not dead and I will throwing my hat in the ring very soon :). I'm not the math and physics whizz like TeeDee and some of the others here, but I hope my contributions will help.
thanks headchange & right back at cha<g>.
i have an idea for a different type (flatter) hammock that i have thought about for a while. i told blackbishop about it a while back.
i'm not sure if it will play out to be useful in the real world, but i plan to try a basic model of it 1st before throwing it out to view... & try to explain it. even if it don't work, i'll share the experiment. maybe it'll jog a new thought for someone else.
