Heh, turns out all this hustle to get needed items by Saturday was for nothing. The friend called me on the day with an illness. Ha ha, oh well.
Well I can't tell you much since I never got to the mountains, but I wore the pieces of clothing I bought during a cold morning so far. I really like the wigwam socks I found at Fred Meyer's, very nice I must say. Also purchased a nice wool beanie and some cheap coleman raingear. 30$ for XL rain coat and pants. They look fairly decent (vents, visor in the hood, lots of pockets).
There was one piece of clothing I almost bought, but just couldn't make up my mind. I wish I could remember the brand name, but the jacket looked interesting.
It was pretty much two pieces of clothing, outerwear and innerwear. The outer piece was a wind and water proof nylon I believe with all the bells and whistles. The inner piece was a polyester jacket that might be detachable from the other jacket. With both inner and outer it felt kinda heavy and it was priced for $60. Maybe that's a good price, have to remember the brand name.
