Welcome back to "civilization". Glad you had a safe trip.
Congratulations! What a fantastic accomplishment! The AT in a hammock!
now time to head Sobo?
(Just kidding!)
Congratulations on the completion!
KM
Red Hat---that’s a significant personal accomplishment. You through-hiked the entire AT. Wonderful! Congratulations.
Looking forward and please post some photos. I am from Mass Nh and love that portion of the trail—The Whites---and even that alone is a huge feat, given the elevation changes.
I’m curious—hammocks are allowed anyplace along the trail for camping, or only designated areas? Anyone ever hassle you, Red, about using the WBBB—you know, park rangers, etc?
A Walk In The Woods, indeed---good job, RH.

Congratulations! That kind of journey is a real accomplishment! :)
I'm SO green with envy! I'd love to hear more about your trip. Congrats!
So where are you gonna put the tat?
Congratulations on the accomplishment Red Hat! I remember seeing you when you came through Nashville this year at the WB dinner and the slide show afterward at REI. Certainly was a walk of faith!
Your trail journal entry of 3/16/10 shows a great picture of the WBBB and the tarp. Did you find that the Deluxe was enough of a tarp even up in the Smokies with the snow?
Again, congratulations on the accomplishment!

Welcome back from the trail RedHat, I followed your trail journal from the start. You are an inspiration to this fellow Texan!

Thanks for the link to her journal HikerRanky.
I just spent an hour there, absolutely fascinating.
I'll go back when I have more time.
Just read the 2010 Journal and "WOW", what a great read! Congrats to you on the completion of the hike of a lifetime!
