pat#6865763 i think?, search "asymmetrical hammock shelter".
Hi
Do you realy think that if I cut a convex curve out of each end of the hammock to tighten the sides of the hammock, which also means the hammock IS symmetrical from which ever way you look, whether side to side or down the length I would be breaking his patent?
And is it applicable in the land down under? :)

Figures 19 and 20 and in the right hand column on page 11, his description of the invention leaves it open to interpetation as to specifically how it is designed. in reading through http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/showthread.php?t=670 it sounds as if it is in fact a rectangle that he uses.
oh, it's in there somewhere, i'll see if i can find it. it doesn't matter what hh uses in the hammocks he sells, lots of people have ideas patented that they don't actually use, it's still protected though.
i believe hh has patents in most developed countries, i'm sure aus is one of them.
it is in the "summary of the invention" section. in the paragraph that starts "in one form of the invention..."
it isn't in the claims though so you might be ok. for some reason i thought it was in the claims. anyway, talk to a lawyer if you want to know for sure. i was under the impression that it was patented (tom told me it was), but i was also under the impression that it had to be listed in the claims to be covered so who knows.
