Ill get on directions tonight, in the meantime, speaking of local, here is the weather-cam at the Kane high school, conditions there will be equal to the trail. About the same altitude and proximity to the great lakes for lake effect snow.

I was going to post directions, but I was wondering if we are meeting Friday at my camp, at the trail head, or somewhere in population ( with cell service). I was thinking of heading up to my camp Friday after work and getting the fire going and the fire pit. We could put on a pot big pot of chile and wait there for the hangers, as you know the trail head is about 3-4 miles down the road from there, I can give directions from all the different routes in. I think most of the hangers are from south, Hobbit knows the way I think. Let me know what ya think
I saw a comment with someone asking for the longitude and latitude for the area, I found this site which if you play with the map features will give you a topographic view, mind you, the are where it is marked is not the trail head ( that would be along hearts content road if you zoom in a lil. but I think it shows the center of the specific " wilderness area" . As a note the wilderness area is within the boundaries of the National forest but the plan is for the wilderness areas to remain more untouched, or as natural as possible. Thats why the trail markers are sometimes hard to find and some of the downed trees are not trimmed. but it does provide a unique experience.
