Newbie question - ridgelines
how and where on the suspension do you hang a ridgeline to be used for tarps, peapods, etc.
pictures are appreciated or links to videos.
And of course Shug's videos:
If you're talking about a hammock ridgeline, it has nothing to do with the tarp.
A structural ridgeline keeps the sag of your hammock consistent and a placeto hang goodies.
A non structural ridgeline is a place to hang things like a ditty bag to hold your headlamp, glasses, moonshine, etc...
They also keep some bug nets off your face.
On the tarp, as mentioned, a ridgeline is not needed, but I prefer one because the tarp setup is faster. You can tie each edge of the tarp to a tree, but you might spend a little time back and forth centering a small tarp over your hammock.
Tarp ridgeline is best tied directly to the tree, not to the suspension.
