Spreader bars have been part of our car camping gear for a while, but I was after a lightweight version for backpacking. After trying a couple different ideas that didn't work, here's a video of my latest design. The tent pole is an aluminum replacement pole, and the ends are turned out of some UHMW plastic I had in the junk bin.
Spreader bars let us hang two hammocks from the same two trees under one tarp. It's a great way hang with the kids.
This is my first published video, so it's not too polished. Had fun with it anyways.

Can you feel every move the other person makes in their hammock? sometimes I can be restless and I think I would bother my lady

i had the same question... although it is not a problem specifically to his set up... but to tandem set ups in general...

Just being in a hammock tends to dampen some of the motion, but you can feel some movement. It's most noticeable when one person gets out of their hammock. Just rolling over isn't enough to bother any of us. You'll just have to try it and find out.
Thanks, Cakes. I'm working on another video for the socks.

Awesome video Detail Man, and D family...
You mentioned you turned the connectors, correct??? Have you been able to find anything that is commercially made so those of us whom would like to try this (namely me for my two girls) could make this set-up work?

I saw those connectors on the BSF hike and wondered if they were custom. Great job on that setup. Those socks are first class.
