Gonna mark this one down
Wow. This trip is really shaping up to be special. Several AWESOME vendors have already donated for the raffle!! Have to show up to find out who... ;)
Anyone interested in having a group meal one night? Any ideas for that? Maybe a pot luck?
This could be fun. I'll talk to my dad and watch my schedule with work and student teaching. I'm sure my wife will let me go, but I hope everything works out.
I'll try to make this one. It's hard to pass up on the FTS, the Chattooga, and a good cause.
All in on this one.
I'll keep an eye on the dates. I stayed at Burrell's Ford this past weekend. That was my first time in the area, but definitely not the last. I can't wait to take the family back during warmer weather. What an awesome area!
For those who haven't done it, the hike up to Ellicott Rock is highly recommended as well.
Will keep an eye on this on but a bit early for me to commit completely. Never know with work these days
Perhaps, perhaps.
The OP mentioned Burrel's Ford as the location. Are you refering to the established campground or one of the many sites off the trail north of BF in the direction of Ellicott Rock? I know there is a large site where we have had group hangs before about 1.5 miles north of BF where the East Fork Trail intersects the CRT.
OK...
Just got through discussing this with JBRanger. The site for the hang is going to be where the East Fork Trail intersects with the Chattooga Trail. It is the "blue flag" between the "Good Camp" and the "Beach Campsite" in the image below (Also labeled EastForkBridge).

Here is a link with directions to the site in questions.
I am really looking forward to this hang. It is looking like a good number of people have already started putting their names on the SIGN UP sheet. Don't get left out on this. It promises to be a great event.
Trip Reports from past group/solo hangs if you don't believe me.

ok that should be enough for now.:)
We camped up by the East Fork bridge this fall and there were two places where large trees were down over the trail. Do you know if they are still there?
