No not really the guylines they give are crap and and they are eno. Look at the cheepness of the warbonnet mamajamaba it is cheaper and more awesome you get a bigger bang for your buck and all the stuff he makes are us made. Never Fall prey to eno you will regret it like I did. By the way all of their tarps are silnylon.
I use a superfly tarp and yes
I just took a delivery of material including 22 meters of 1.4 silnylon, the only thing I have to compare is my dd 4mx4m pu coated tarp, I struggle to get the dd in the bag even when I fold it very neatly, as the material came I slid it in the bag... easily I could probably get another 10-15m in. For me, weight isn't a big issue atm, but pack size really is, so yes when my tarps are finished they will be worth it! :D
So far, my entire DIY setup of 10'x12' silnylon tarp, double bottom hammock with mosquito netting, Climashield UQ, CCF pad, whoopie slings and all associated riggings cost less than 1 Cuben fiber tarp.
If there was no other alternative than having to pay the price of a Cuben tarp in order to get into hammock camping, I could not bring myself to consider it. The strong DIY aspect of this line of equipment has been very attractive to me.
Just my considered opinion.
