Welcome from south GA - one of my daughters lives in your fair city. Also going to Raven Cliffs, so see you there.
I meant to say I got a Mamba TQ along with a Yeti UQ from the listing on Gear Trade. My wife got me a WBBB 1.1 dbl and a Big Mamajamba tarp for Christmas- I will get it straight sooner or later- What do you expect from a noobie?
Greetings from Florida! I'm sure you will find plenty of friendly folks and helpful advice here.
Hey Whitedog9 - I'm out west of Athens. Glad to have another hanger in the neighborhood. Lupus (on the east side) is getting really serious about hammocking. I've just picked up my first hammock last week. We can all learn together.
GeezerScouter
Sounds good geezerscouter- I was hoping I would turn up some folks close to me here in Athens - looks like 5 or so different folks have made contact with me through my introductory post. if all goes well I hope to be at Raven Cliffs Jan 4-5. At this point the wife and I are planning on going whether I have my hammock or not. We will "camp out" in our van and get around and see what the setups are like s/b fun.
Welcome from Lawrenceville, GA! Oh man, you are going to love sleeping in your hammock. I've been sleeping above ground over two years now and love it. I've slept in all kinds of weather and have never been more comfortable and have always been warm in cold weather and dry in wet. Believe me, getting off the ground, out of the tent and hanging between the trees will be the most enjoyable you'll spend. It's addictive - the more you hang, the more you want too and you can't wait for your next trip. Have fun and welcome.
Hey to everyone - It is really cool to get on here and see the different comments - It is getting me more and more excited to get my Hammock and get out there and start "hanging" around - Thanks so much
