Yes I have some. They work very well, worth the money.
I got mine from Wiggy's website.
I have a large and small one, as well as one of the tubelites. They are neat, but I found them impractical as a RL light. They will glow and produce a small amount of light all night, but the useful amount of light only lasts 30 minutes or so. You can charge it with your flashlight, but for the time and effort, I feel you could have just used your headlamp on low. YMMV. I thought that this was going to be a useful addition to my pack, but for me, it is more of a novelty item. If you search for it, there was a fairly lengthy thread started on these about a year ago.
Just better hope that vaccuum sealed bag never develops a hole: Strontium will ignite spontaneously in air at room temperature! :scared: I'm not surprised by Raiffnuke's assessment. But, if it works for you, great! Use with caution and examine the plastic bag for damage frequently.
From Wiggy's website...Quote:
This is not a flash light in the truest sense of illumination but rather a light source that will allow your night vision to work very efficiently. You will not be able to read a book but will be able to play cards while in a tent.
hmmm.. good feed back.. Will keep my LED head lamp & Flashlights. They seem to be More Reliable. This stuff sounds more like a Christmas Gift gizmo.
Hard to beat LED's for a light source.. Cheap, light weight and safe. Plus, changing in Technology every month.
I like to use glow sticks on my hiking poles while my tarp is in porch mode. It makes locating my hammock easy in the dark....I'm not really looking to replace my head lamp with these, just looking to replace buying glow sticks!
