Swampfox Sausage Gravy
2lb. pork sausage
8 slices bacon
1 onion, diced
2 tsp minced garlic
4 c. water
4 c. milk
1 tsp. black pepper
½ cup flour
Cut the bacon up into 1 inch pieces and fry it separately, drain the grease.
Brown the sausage, garlic, and onion in a Dutch oven.
Do not drain the grease from the sausage, it seasons the gravy.
Add the bacon
Add flour and pepper.
Add milk, and water to the mixture a little at a time and stir constantly, browning the gravy
Stir well and bring to a heavy simmer but not boiling.
Add a little more flour for a thicker gravy, add milk to thin it.
Serve over biscuits, potatoes, etc.
Makes about 12, 1 cup servings

While in Charleston, I've been given a mission:cool:. Looks like we will be having some super fresh shrimp for the boil :thumbup: and I CAN'T WAIT!!!

That looks edible... but the proof is in the pudding! At the lake this weekend for Mother's Day and the initial report is the lake water is breath-takenly chilly. I will say I am seeing several boaters and people tubing so as far as my girls are concerned.... Game On!Quote:
