My golden rule is "Never hang a hammock higher than you're willing to fall." You must bounce better than I do! Love the video. Be careful out there. ;-)
Nice! I have been waiting to see some video of your high hanging... That looks like a worthwhile journey! I will let ya borrow a little HD camera for a couple weeks if you want to get some better footage...
Funny, as I first started reading post #1 I was thinking;
Note to self: Beware the little yellow hail stones...
Buddy, I take my hat off to ya...
Wow! I think you just made the "You ain't right" club... and that is a compliment. Thanks for sharing your adventure and look forward to seeing more.
I'm wondering how you crawled into your hammock without flipping out the other side?
Good move on the safety aspect. I saw that you were tied in while laying in the hammock. Looking at splattered heads is no fun. :shades:
Standing up clapping and a :thumbup: to you good sir.
I'm not ashamed to say that I have learned from being hit by the Earth to stay close to it. Doesn't hurt as much that way. If I'm sitting in my hammy and my feet don't touch squarely, then I'm too high:scared:
That being said, I like the precautions you took. Climbers know how to hang :shades:
How do you incorporate a tarp?
In the summer I use a ridgeline and tie the tarp down/around/underneath the hammock and tie it to the opposite side of the hammock. Or I just tie it to nearby branches.
