If money was not an issue, here's my wishlist :boggle:
Hammock: Blackbird Single Layer 1.7oz
Tarp: HG Cuben Fiber Hex Tarp
TQ: HG Burrow 20
UQ: HG Incubator 20
Cook kit: Trail Design Caldera System w/ Esbit
Winter setup would pretty be the same...living in So Cal, the winter weather here rarely drops below 0 and I think with the proper clothing layering system, the selected TQ and UQ combinations would work just fine.
If money was no object I would buy plane tickets and go hang with a dozen or so members of the forum, then go home and make gear. (Am I allowed to spend some of that free money to hire people to help me finish my workshop? I'm a very slow builder.) :)
Hammock: Warbonnet Blackbird*
Tarp: 9'X9' cuben fiber tarp (unsure of make.)
TQ: JRB Shenandoah*
UQ: JRB Mount Washington 3 Convertible* (No longer in production.)
Stove: Triangia & the little stove that Griz invented/improved*
Cook kit: Snow peak 900, cozy and long spoon.*
Hammock: My DIY 12'X6*'
TQ: JRB Rocky Mountain Sniveler*
UQ: Speer Polarpod with (max over stuff.)
Stove: MSR universal
Cook kit: My summer one plus a large 1 1/2 gallon pot to melt snow.
* Is gear I already own and use.
The only thing I would change...Buy a mule to carry my pack, and that mule, my fiance, my dog and I would travel the world hammocking in the most remote places.
I'm about to cheat a little. If money were no object, I'd be able to not work but instead spend some of that time making all my own gear, make it really well, and then travel all over with it.
I'm pretty happy with my gear as is, so I would rather spend my new found fortune traveling to some of the group hangs and meeting some of the most awesome people on earth!
I would DIY everything.
Buy a new profesionalsewing machine, loads of Cuben fibre and tape, bags of 900 siliconized down and lock myself away in the new workroom with massive work tables.
My gear is pretty spot on and awesome now that I have everything dialed in. I would change my Imusa to a titanium pot.
The only major thing I would change is I would get a second Husky for the trail. :D
If money were no object..I'd find a way to commission a workable two person bridge hammock and all the parts and pieces that would have to be re-engineered to outfit it. Someday I'd like to lie in a Clark Vertex to see how it feels.
