Very interested in this trip, what about a shuttle back to St Augustine from Cedar Key?
I'm pretty sure we could work something out. Right now, I'm planning on spending a day on either end with Mrs. FLRider at lodgings in Cedar Key and St. Augustine. That's one of the reasons I'm waiting on her schedule.
As soon as I have an hard schedule, I'd be willing to try and work things out for a shuttle for one or two folks (my car won't fit more'n two bikes).
Sounds amazing. I wish I could make it!
Thanks Fl Rider, I will wait and see how things play out but as of right now I am down for this one.
Cool! I'd love to be a part of this. My main concern would be getting back to the starting point to get my vehicle. Maybe someone with a trailer could ferry us all back? I might have some friends down that way that could help out...
Will be watching this thread for sure. :)
Well, depending on the schedule, I can shuttle up to two folks back to St. Auggie. My car will fit up to two bikes, depending on their size and how we stack 'em. If I can shuttle folks back the day we get to Cedar Key, I can then get myself back to Gainesville the next day.
If you have friends willing to help out, that'd be wonderful, too!
Another option may be Greyhound bus. The station is about 5 miles from Anastasia State Park and Chiefland has one as well near Cedar Key....about 30 miles! Only bad thing about it is that it takes a while to get there and then back but if shuttles don't work out I may just try this ? anyone ever traveled with their bike before on a bus?
Alright. Time to get serious route planning and such done. I have hard dates for this, and they are...drum roll...Sunday, March 16th to Sunday, March 23rd.
That's seven days of riding, and I'll be looking really hard at route planning over the next two weeks or so. I'll shoot an e-mail to Greyhound some time this week and see what they say about bikes on the bus, as well.
Let's get this ball rolling!
