When camping with friends I always take my ipod, portable speakers and alcohol... karaoke anyone?

My dog. She hasn't been out in the last few trips, but she's usually what I take...and I don't have to carry her.
My son (Tinkr) and earplugs
I take a Tenkara Fishing set up. I backpack to fish. I love getting into remote out of the way places to go fishing. Best 8 ounces in my pack. ;)

I usually have my Iphone for some music...generally to drowned out the snoring...mine and those around me. ;) Occasionally I will read a little on it.
Then a good cigar and some good Uisce beatha...look that one up ;)
A good Camera.....between the fishing and camera I can keep myself entertained for days. :D
Those make it pretty much every trip. Some trips get a Monarch Chair added to the mix. If the trip dictates then I take some better cooking gear and better food than if its a trip I care about the weight.
Donna here....to the spring MAHHA...my pop up camper;):D...the only hang I have attended so far! Some are trying to talk me into going to the Mt Rogers hang some January...there, I will bring a motel reservation!:)
Farkle is a lot of fun!
+1 on fishing. That's one of my favorite backcountry activities.
Depending on the situation, I'll sometimes bring a double-wall titanium mug for morning hot chocolate.
Other than those things, it's pretty much just the essentials. I find between spending time chatting, fishing, hiking and eating, I don't need much else. My back REALLY appreciates taking fewer items.
I bring extra tripwire. I can relax when I know the the perimeter is secure.

A harpoon, best when nobody's in ear shot.
Bringing my nephew Gabe, my Kindle and a new inflatable pillow.
(I really, really, really hope that the new pillow does not spring an air leak like the last one I bought!)
