Well done. Sounds like you got a workout in but proved the concept. I am sure each time out will be more enjoyable than the last as you fine tune the craft. -J
I got the photos that my dad took of the launching of the Gute Fahrt.

Looks like the maiden voyage was a success! It's always good to have a first mate along for the trip. Add a trolling motor and cruise the lake.
This is just great! Glad everything went so well.
Awesome!

This is an awesome project! Love the name and thanks so much for posting all the pictures/videos. Keep them coming! My son (5 years old) and I are reading Huck fin at night and he's in his room building Lego models of his design for a raft with three hammocks (mom has to come with too).
Extraordinary stuff here and you did an awesome job. Did it end up feeling stable enough for your son? I bet a bigger one with the whole crew hanging would make an epic vacation. I can see it now..floating down the Mississippi.
I hate working.

I say this with all the love and respect a born and breed southern gentleman can muster...that is sooooo redneck...and I love it.
You rock dad. Those boys will not soon forget the adventure of the construction and use of this little bit of madness. Well played sir, well played.

Thankd for the Pics. It looks like a pretty low draft and stable for flat water. What a fun time for the family. -J
