headchange4U, did you buy the map set from outragegis for RRG. If you haven't this one is the best set http://www.outragegis.com/store/prod...5&cat=1&page=1
I also have their Big South Fork map set
Yes I have that map set. They are really nice. I am going to grab the BSF maps next time I go to my outfitters.
just a bump to see where this stands
As of now I'm still going to try and go the weekend of May 4. I don't know if anyone else is going to be there.:)
Headchange, I can't make it:( . I have to work that weekend. I hope we can try another time. I'll be on vaction at the end of May for 15 days, including a section hike on the AT from Davenport Gap to Hot Springs. If all goes according to plan, I'll wind up in Hot Springs on June 8th for the 19th SEHHA Hangout!
I know I have a photography seminar on May 5th. The speaker for 8-9 hrs is Rick Sammon...awesome outdoor photographer. I am tossed on what to do. Go with you guys or miss a once in a lifetime opportunity to see a world class photographer.
I do know I am going to the Smokies next weekend. Going to try the hammock again
The photography thing is something you may want to miss out on. I know i get into things like that. I have been dying to get a DSLR camera.
We may try to reschedule the group thing and pick another date where more people can make it. I actually think my wife is going to try to use a hammock so I may drag her along and just do an overnighter on that Saturday.
So, when we going? I'm off weekend after next (04/26-30/07) & would love a good hike in the gorge.
Supposed to do a "Church thing" sat, but like J. Muir said: "I'd rather be in the mountains thinking of god, than in church thinking of the mountains"
