Seriously, the Blackbird has a pile of features that set it apart from other hammocks, especially the bare-bones simplicity of the ENO. If you don't value those features, then the blackbird is not the hammock for you.
As far as Rev's comment about the BB being the flavor of the week, I've got to disagree... what Brandon did is find a very clever way to sell an asymmetrical hammock that Tom Hennesey can't shut down, because of the way he avoided Tom's patents. The overall cleverness of the design means the blackbird, unlike most hammocks with nets built in, is crazy roomy when you're laying on the diagonal.
Compared to a Hennessey Hammock with a zipper mod, there isn't a HUGE difference to the blackbird, but there are just enough neat little features to make the blackbird the better hammock for a huge number of users, which is the reason you're seeing so many people buying Warbonnet hammocks.
To call it a simple fad is to fail to give Brandon credit for a very inventive design, and he deserves better than that, IMHO.
